Alte Villa Boutique Gästehause

The Boutique-Guest House “Alte Loge” is situated in the centre of this surreal picturesque harbour town, Lüderitz, in a historic building with the charm of the colonial architecture. Enjoy the spectacular view from the terrace, overlooking the bay of Lüderitz, the harbour and the dunes of the Namib Desert. The old charming villa has been completely renovated and the guest house was opened in 2015, managed by the German owners themselves. Guests can relax and enjoy a drink at the bar or have lobsters and oysters at our on-site restaurant. We offer continental breakfast every morning; this is included in the rate.

The Alte Villa Boutique Gästehaus offer 5 unique double rooms and a family bungalow, ideal for groups up to 14 guests. Each room is individually decorated and have either a bathtub or a shower. Most of the rooms have a sea or garden view. You can relax in the beautiful garden surrounded with flowers and trees, enjoy reading a book in the warm and cosy atmosphere of the lounge or have a chat with other guests at the bar.

Lüderitz has an atmosphere all of its own – gentle, relaxed, some say sleepy. Popular activities in Luderitz include a tour to Kolmanskop Ghost town or a Luderitz boat trip to Namibia’s only Penguin colony on Halifax Island. Visitors to Luderitz can also take a walk to the beautiful Agate Beach to pick up some Agates or to the Bogenfels. Guests can also enjoy fishing, hiking and windsurfing. The Bogenfels is at 55 metres, the highest arch in Southern Africa and is in Namibia a national monument. It was recorded on German-South-West Africa colonial maps around the year 1900. It’s found in a restricted area and can be visited on a guided tour in the national park, the former diamond bar area. During the day trip, you will see Grillenthal – one of the oldest diamond mining towns of Namibia and Pomona; one of the most famous mining ghost towns in 1860, long before the occurance of diamonds became well-known.

Very famous in Lüderitz is the Jugendstil Villa. It is a National Monument and was originally called the Goerke House. It was invented by the West Prussian Hans Goerke, who came in the year 1904, and built his dream house with everything imported by ship from Germany, whether it was building material, clothes, machines and food.
