Brandberg White Lady Lodge

Accommodation near ‘White Lady’ Rock Art | Brandberg

Brandberg White Lady Lodge lies at the foot of the Brandberg Mountain near the ‘White Lady’ Rock painting in Damaraland, Namibia. The lodge offers a range of accommodation in Damaraland including accommodation in the stone chalets with private patios and direct views onto the Brandberg Mountain. Fifteen standard en-suite rooms are available at the lodge itself and for the more adventurous the rustic en-suite furnished safari tents with braai. Our camping site is popular, and each campsite has it’s own tap and braai facility. Campers are free to use the lodge facilities such as the swimming pool, restaurant, and bar. Families are welcome to enquire about suitable family-friendly accommodation. There is also a Tree House available with safari tents on a raised platform with two three quarter beds and solar lighting. Guests staying at the Tree House enjoy the hot shower in the unique open-air bathroom under the stars.

The Brandberg has over 43000 recorded individual rock paintings. However, it’s the ‘White Lady’ rock painting that made the mountain famous. It’s also the highest mountain in Namibia with Konigstein being the highest point at 2573m above sea level. The White Lady painting has been an archaeological mystery with many theories over the years as to its authorship, origins and dating. It is estimated to be at least 2000 years old. Day tours to view the White Lady and rock art are a popular activity in Damaraland. Guests can take the Brandberg White Lady walk with local, knowledgeable guides.

Brandberg White Lady Lodge is a great place to see the Desert Adapted Elephants of Namibia. Sightings are a regular occurrence, and the Desert Elephants are often discovered wandering in the lodge’s vicinity. The Desert Elephant Drive is a popular activity at Brandberg Lodge. This gives one the perfect opportunity to view these magnificent animals and how they survive in these dry conditions. Other wildlife that is spotted includes zebra, oryx, springbok and ostrich.

Horse riding is also on offer as an activity at the Brandberg Lodge in Damaraland. Guided horse rides take place in the early morning and late afternoon, and riders can appreciate the Ugab Valley and Brandberg Mountain views.

Self-drive travellers can easily reach Brandberg White Lady Lodge on their tour to Namibia.
