Zambezi River Fishing
Fishing can be done from either motoboats or canoes on the lodge’s backwater. For serious fishing on the main Zambezi River. Besides the elusive Tigerfish, the other most popular fish caught on the Zambezi are Barbel, Bream, Nembwe, Tilapia and Largemouth. Pike fish breed amongst the water lillies of the lodge’s backwater, and is the only place in the area where these fish can be caught. Caprivi Mutoya Lodge supports catch and release.
Caprivi Mutoya Lodge property is also home to a pair of Schalow’s Turacos, a bird much sought after by twitchers. Carmine Bee-Eaters – the largest Carmine Bee-Eater colony in Southern Africa is only 15kms from the lodge. Photographers flock from all around the world during the breeding season to take pictures of this magnificent spectacle.
