Erongo Wilderness Lodge

The Erongo Wilderness Lodge is located near Omaruru where mountains, bushveld ecosystems and the desert meet. Our lodge features an outdoor pool, sundowner deck, a floodlit waterhole, a children’s playground and shared lounge with fireplace. Our wooden deck has spectacular views of the sunset and wilderness. Guests can relax at the pool or have a drink and watch the waterhole, as animals quench their thirst. Erongo Wilderness Lodge is a founder of the Erongo Mountain Nature Conservancy, with 30 private landowners to conserve and protect this natural treasure of over 200,000ha.

Erongo Wilderness Lodge Accommodation

Our accommodation in twelve luxury tented chalets raised on stilts, each with a shaded deck, mosquito nets, tea/coffee facilities, minibar, safe, fan and en-suite bathroom build around the existing rocks and trees. Inside they offer comfort and casual luxury. Every tent has its own privacy and exclusivity in the lush Erongo environment.

Activities

Activities at Erongo Wilderness Lodge include guided morning and sundowner walks as also self-guided walking trails. We also offer an afternoon Nature drive with a visit to the National Monument site at Paula’s Cave to explore some outstanding bushman rock art, ending off with a ‘sundowner’ and a slow drive back to the lodge in time for dinner in our Lodge restaurant. Erongo Wilderness Lodge has an abundance of bird life, which makes the viewing of birds in this area superb. These include both Namibian and South African endemics such as: Hartlaub’s Francolin, Redbilled Francolin, Ruppell’s Parrot, Rosy faced Lovebird, Monteiro’s Hornbill, Carp’s Black Tit, Damara Rockrunner, Pririt Batis, White-tailed Shrike, Violet-eared Waxbill, and the Redheaded Finch. Sometimes you’ll find the Starlings, Melba Finches, Rock Kestrels, Masked Weavers, Rock Buntings and White-bellied Sunbirds and a whole host of others.
