Kanaan N/a’an ku sê Desert Retreat
The Kanaan N/a’an ku sê Desert Retreat is situated in the south of Namibia. It’s a home of 33,000 hectares of unspoilt nature to free roaming Mountain Zebras, Kudu, Springbok, Ostrich, Oryx, Caracal, Jackal and Hyenas. The Desert Retreat offers comfortable accommodation, beautiful landscapes and views.
Kanaan is focusing on the large carnivores such as cheetah, hyena and leopards. Our aim is to find a balance between its spectacular wildlife and needs of the Namibian human inhabitants. We are mainly focusing on conservation, big and small animals.
Our accommodation consists of eight en-suite Luxury Canvas Tents overlooking a most-striking landscape and quiet tranquillity of the desert experience. We offer gourmet meals and refreshing drinks in our main dining area. Our lounge is ideal to relax or meet other guests and share their wildlife stories and experiences.
Activities include sunset/sunrise drives, scorpion night walks, photographic safari and professional photographic tours, cheetah feeding tour and carnivore ecology research. Guests can see a lot of animals on the Game Drives and in the evening we spot scorpions with a UV lamp. The Cheetah Feeding Tour is very popular, it’s a lifetime experience.
Driving south on the C27 towards Helmeringhausen, 25kms after Betta, turn west on to the D707. Continue on D707 for 44kms at which point you’ll see a sign for the lodge on your left. It is another 8kms to the lodge along a farm track.
