Kayak Tours with Pelican Point Kayaking | Walvis Bay
Pelican Point Kayaking offer kayak tours around the Pelican Point peninsula just off Walvis Bay. The waters around Pelican Point are full of life…the local seals are very inquisitive and friendly and as you kayak your way around the peninsula they will regularly pop up in the water to take a curious look at you. They may even play with your paddle whilst kayaking. Our kayak tours start in the early morning as there little to no wind at this time of the day…the conditions are ideal for a kayak and the water is calm. This is a gentle and exciting adventure and if you have never kayaked before don’t worry as there is no experience necessary…you will receive some coaching beforehand and there is always a guide nearby.
During your Pelican Point Kayaking tour will get experience lots of sea life and birds. The Heaviside Dolphins are also plentiful and you will get to see these wonderful creatures whilst you are kayaking along. There is lots of birdlife along the way and you will get to see large flocks of the pretty pink flamingos and the comical looking pelicans with their large wingspan and beaks! Other animals that are spotted included brown hyena and jackals.
The Pelican Point Lighthouse was built over 100 hundred years ago and the nearby Cape Fur Seal population is estimated to be about 50000 seals! Lunch is included on a nearby beach…your picnic includes sandwiches, tea and coffee.
