Shamvura Camp

Shamvura Camp is ideal for self-catering guests and also offers meals on request. Guests share the lodge space with a variety of pets such as dogs, mongeese, Guinea fowl and a goat. At the main building we have a private bar, lounge with DSTV and a viewing deck. We have home-cooked meals served in our restaurant. The Camp features a swimming pool, laundry service, internet and secure parking. Guests are welcome to meet our crafters on site and see their basketry and crafts.

Accommodation

Our accommodation comprises in various types of tents, a cottage and campsites. Our family cottage is elevated on a wooden platform with thatched roof, giving a spectacular view from its spacious veranda. It features a ceiling fan, mosquito net, en-suite bathroom, open-plan dining/living area, a fridge and a braai area. Our tents are all raised on either a wooden platform or on a cement base with a veranda. They have their own braai facilities, en-suite bathroom and parking space. Our campsites all have shade and grassy areas with an ablution block and braai facilities. All units are beautifully decorated and towels, linen and soap are provided.

Activities

Activities at Shamvura Camp are birding, hiking trails, boat trips on the river, bird-ringing, go fishing and catch tiger fish, catfish, bream, thin-face and hump back largemouth and ‘Three-spot’; do a Mokoro “Wato” Trip or a game drive to the Mahango Game Park and the Khaudom Game Park. We also have the micro light flights over the Kavango River from the air and traditional dances by the Gciriku to entertain our guests.
