Luxury Houseboats on the Chobe River

The Chobe Princess gives you the feel of being on your own houseboat. It’s ideal for a small group of friends or family. Guests can relax during this intimate river safari, open your curtains and have an amazing view of the sunset and enjoy your meals while taking in the 360° view of the Chobe River. Hop on one of the smaller tender boats where you will see several wildlife along the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers, catch a tiger fish, or capture over 500 bird species found in this wetland, experience a hippo fight or visit the local village and take part in a guided hiking safari. Guests will be able to see huge herds of elephants as they swim across the water, as well as buffalo, lion, crocodile, lechwe, puku, giraffe, zebra, sable, kudu and leopard as they gather to quench their thirst at watering holes.

Chobe Princess have three houseboats, where two of the 18-metre Chobe Princesses contain four cabin suites – the third is slightly larger with five suites. Our houseboats comprise in 5 elegant en-suite cabins, situated on the lower and top decks. Each cabin has twin or double beds, fans, mosquito nets, safe and built-in cupboards. They are tastefully decorated with a touch of tranquillity. In the middle deck, there you will find a bar with flat-screen television, comfortable lounge, plunge pool and dining area. On the top deck we have sun loungers and incredible views over the river.

Guests can enjoy an alfresco breakfast in the open-air dining room before they set of on their next journey. Lunch is prepared by a skilful chef 2-course meal and in the evening we have a 3-course meal. Guests can relax in the sun loungers and jump into the plunge pool on hot sunny days or enjoy some unforgettable stargazing at night. The Chobe River is known as a photographer’s paradise – the soft early morning light and sunsets, combined with striking animal behaviour make unusual photo opportunities. At the local village, you will be able to learn and understand how the inhabitants of this 100-year old village “Ijambwe” live, including their traditions. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, have a sun hat and lotion ready when doing your guided hiking safari. At the village, you can buy woven baskets, beaded jewellery or carved wooden animal as a memento from your trip.
