Experience Nature's Bounty, Shamvura Camp, Namibia
Shamvura Camp, located in the Ndiyona area of Kavango East Region, Namibia, offers a unique experience where guests can immerse themselves in the rich biodiversity of the Okavango River. This owner-managed, permanent tented Camp is situated on a highly vegetated ancient dune, offering guests an incredible view of the most extensive floodplains on the river system, created by the confluence of the Cuito and Okavango rivers. Accommodation options are diverse, consisting of fully equipped and furnished 2, 3, and 4-bed cabin tents and a thatched tree-top cottage, all self-catering with a private braai area and electricity.
For those who prefer a more raw connection with nature, there are spacious private campsites and individualized campsites with shared ablution facilities, firewood, a fireplace, a water point, and electricity. The Camp also features a lounge with a library, DStv, WiFi, and excellent cell phone coverage. Guests can cool off in the filtered swimming pool or enjoy the view from the deck. There’s also a private bar and expansive gardens for relaxation.
Shamvura Camp offers a variety of activities to help guests connect with the natural world. These include guided fishing and scenic boat trips, wetland bird guides, specialized woodland bird trips, guided and unguided birding/nature walks on and around the property, bird ringing, and craft/basket weaving excursions. The Camp also organizes guided game drives to Mahango Game Park, Buffalo Core area (in Bwabwata National Park), and Khaudum National Park.
