Understanding Etosha’s Entrance Gates
Etosha has four entrance gates, and travellers commonly search for accommodation by the gate nearest their route, so it’s worth knowing them by name:
Andersson Gate (south) is closest to Okaukuejo Camp and the main gateway for visitors arriving from Outjo, Windhoek or Damaraland. Von Lindequist Gate (east) suits travellers arriving from Tsumeb or the Zambezi Region. Galton Gate (west), opened to the public in 2014, is the most remote entrance, leading to the quieter western side of Etosha and Dolomite Camp.
