Etosha Oberland Lodge is a luxury lodge in the Ondili group, set in a 5,000-hectare private game reserve just south of Etosha National Park. The reserve shares a 10 km border with the park, and Andersson Gate, Etosha’s southern entrance, is 10 km away. Two waterholes in front of the lodge draw wildlife, so there’s often game to watch without leaving the grounds.
What Makes Etosha Oberland Lodge Different
The infinity pool looks out over the lodge’s two waterholes. Dinner is usually served on the outside deck overlooking them, and animals regularly come in to drink after dark. You can also explore the reserve on foot with a guide, something Etosha’s rules don’t allow inside the park. The whole lodge runs on solar power, and it has its own paved airstrip for fly-in safaris.
Accommodation at Etosha Oberland Lodge
Etosha Oberland Lodge has 15 chalets, each with around 75 m² of living space finished in natural materials and colours. There are also three family chalets with an extra bedroom. The chalets are set well apart so they face the savannah rather than each other, and each has a shaded private terrace with deck chairs. Inside you’ll find air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a minibar and fridge, a tea and coffee station, a safe, mosquito nets and a hair dryer. The indoor shower is a step-free walk-in, and each chalet also has an outdoor shower. Paved, step-free walkways connect the chalets to the main building, and laundry service is available.
