Uis Elephant Guesthouse | Comfort near the Brandberg

Uis Elephant Guesthouse sits in the village of Uis, close to the Brandberg, Namibia’s highest mountain, in the heart of Damaraland. It’s a comfortable, well-placed base for exploring the White Lady rock art and the surrounding desert-elephant country.

What Makes Uis Elephant Guesthouse Different

With 12 rooms across standard, luxury and suite categories, the guesthouse offers more room variety than many smaller Uis properties, alongside an on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its central Uis location makes it a practical, comfortable stopover rather than a remote wilderness camp.

Accommodation at Uis Elephant Guesthouse

The property has 4 standard rooms, 5 luxury rooms and 3 suites, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and mosquito nets. Luxury rooms can accommodate an extra bed on request. Suites add a fridge and DSTV. Wheelchair friendly accommodation is also available. A swimming pool, complimentary Wi-Fi, satellite television, secure parking and a limited laundry service are available across the property. See our accommodation in Damaraland guide for other places to stay across the region.

Highly recommended accommodation in Uis. Friendly hosts and nice staff. Good rooms, good dinner, and a good breakfast. The bathroom takes some getting used to, but everything was neat and clean.

Perfect stay with Anton and Kirsten. Simple guest house in it’s conception and decoration but highly enjoyable. We had two diners there and it was both times very good. The elephant tour was perfect too.

Great host and staff. We had lovely meals and the rooms (mini houses) are great. Especially the nice young woman doing the drinks and the chef are awesome! It was a bit cold (August) and you are eating outside. Maybe my lack of packing. I would recommend good clothes that period of year.
A small paradise in the desert! The owner are very friendly, good suggestion and happy! The services was good, the rooms big and clean. The dinner and breakfast was excelent. Swimmig pool to rest and relax after a day of African Massage!

This family run stay was the best value in Namibia. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The food here is also very good. Compliments to the chef! Anton is a an amazing guide for any excursion. My only suggestion is to stay for two or more days. We will definitely be back to try the sleep out excursion.
I was privileged to be able to spend a week here, and to enjoy the extraordinary service and warm reception at this establishment. In addition to the constant hospitality, the food here was akin to some of the best meals I’ve had in expensive, big-city eateries. The chef here has a phenomenal talent of preparing relatively simple meals in a way that most high-end hotels won’t be able to (no exaggeration here). The rooms and facilities are really well kept, and have a splendid, quirky design. I really hope to have an opportunity to visit again!
